UPDATE (07/27/17): The United Board of Health approved the animal services policy at the July 26, 2017 meeting. 

 The Galveston County United Board of Health (UBOH) is considering proposed changes to the Galveston County Animal Services Policy as recommended by the Animal Services Advisory Committee (ASAC).

Per UBOH Bylaws, the policy will undergo a three step process prior to a vote for approval. These steps are summarized below and may be read in their entirety in the UBOH Bylaws.

1. Introduction of Proposed Policy
   1. This step occurred at the May 31, 2017 UBOH meeting.
2. Publication: First Reading: Submission to Members
   1. Notice of a public hearing on the proposed policy will be published in the Galveston County Daily News on two occasions prior to the June 28, 2017 UBOH meeting.
   2. A public hearing on the proposed policy will occur at the June 28, 2017 UBOH meeting.
3. Further Consideration: Policy Adoption or Revision
   1. UBOH will vote on adoption of the proposed policy the July 26, 2017 meeting.
