Galveston County Health District EMS, also known as Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA) and Galveston EMS (GEMS), has provided life-saving service to the residents of Galveston Island since 1975. We've grown a lot since then and now serve 156 square miles of Galveston County.

Areas we serve

We serve Kemah, Clear Lake Shores, Bayou Vista, Hitchcock, Jamaica Beach, Galveston, the Village of Tiki Island and unincorporated areas of Galveston County, including Bacliff, Bayshore and San Leon.

Our agency

Our service is provided by six ambulances staffed at the Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) level and one EMS supervisor staffed 24 hours a day operating out of five stations throughout the area.
