The Galveston County Animal Resource Center (ARC) is happy to offer $20 adoptions on Saturday, August 19, 2017 as part of NBC Universal’s Clear the Shelters national pet adoption event. The reduced rate still includes spay or neuter, rabies vaccination and a microchip.
The reduced adoption rate is made possible by a donation from Associated Credit Union of Texas.
“For the past two years, we’ve been able to offer half priced adoptions during this event,” said Amber Adams, ARC manager. “This year, we’re very excited to be able to offer an even more reduced rate thanks to a generous donation from Associated Credit Union of Texas.”
NBC Universal’s Clear the Shelters is spearheaded locally by Telemundo Houston and KPRC2. Nearly 700 animal shelters across the country are participating in this year’s event. More than 73,400 pets have been adopted nationally through the effort since it started in 2015.
“All adoptions from the ARC include spay or neuter, rabies vaccination and a microchip,” Adams continued. “That’s a huge value at the regular rate of $85, and a bargain at $20.”
The ARC is located at 3412 25th Avenue North in Texas City and can be reached at 409-948-2485. The facility is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, the day of the event.
