Empowering people to better manage their diabetes remains the focus of a free educational program hosted by the Galveston County Health District (GCHD). The next 7-week Wisdom, Power, Control program begins August 16.
The program, for adults over the age of 18 with type 2 diabetes, focuses on increasing physical activity, improving eating habits, preventing complications, identifying cards, developing self-care skills and improving quality of life.
The weekly two-hour sessions will be held Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. at the Galveston County Health District WIC training room (9850-B Emmett F Lowry Expressway in Texas City) on August 16, 23, 30 and September 6, 13, 20, 27.
Wisdom, Power, Control is a collaboration with TAMU Agrilife Extension.
