Wisdom, Power, Control Free Diabetes Management Class

Empowering people to better manage their diabetes remains the focus of a free educational program hosted by the Galveston County Health District (GCHD). The next 7-week Wisdom, Power, Control program begins August 16.

The program, for adults over the age of 18 with type 2 diabetes, focuses on increasing physical activity, improving eating habits, preventing complications, identifying cards, developing self-care skills and improving quality of life.

The weekly two-hour sessions will be held Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. at the Galveston County Health District WIC training room (9850-B Emmett F Lowry Expressway in Texas City) on August 16, 23, 30 and September 6, 13, 20, 27.

Wisdom, Power, Control is a collaboration with TAMU Agrilife Extension.

Participants must register before August 16 by contacting chs@gchd.org or 409-938-2293.

WHEN: Wednesdays from 3-5 p.m. on August 16, 23, 30 and September 6, 13, 20, 27
WHERE: Galveston County Health District WIC classroom (B101.1), located at 9850-B Emmett F. Lowry Expressway in                Texas City (Enter entrance B, immediately turn right, enter the second door on the left)
WHO: Adults over the age of 18 with type 2 diabetes (family members also welcome)
