The Galveston County Animal Resource Center (ARC) is happy to offer free microchips and half-price adoptions, in addition to low-cost pet vaccinations on the last weekend of October 2017.
Free Microchips
Free microchips, courtesy of the Michelson Found Animals Registry, will be available to the first 200 pet owners who ask for one on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28.
County registrations will be available for pet owners who live in the municipalities served by the shelter: Bayou Vista, Hitchcock, Kemah, La Marque, Texas City, Tiki Island and unincorporated Galveston County.
Half-Price Adoptions
The normal ARC pet adoption rate will be reduced to $42.50 on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28. Select pets will be available for adoption at rate of $20. All ARC adoptions include rabies vaccination, a microchip and spay or neuter.
Low-Cost Pet Vaccinations
Pet Vaccination Services (PVS) will be on-site Saturday, October 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. offering low-cost vaccinations, flea control and heartworm testing and treatment services. All services will be available at the ARC, located at 3412 25th Avenue North (Loop 197 North) in Texas City. The shelter is open noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, October 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 28.
