Mother's Milk Club - Texas City

When it comes to a mother’s breastfeeding journey, sometimes the best advice and support comes from other mothers on the same journey. That’s why the Galveston County Health District (GCHD) is excited to launch its new breastfeeding support group, Mother’s Milk Club.

“It’s important for mothers to have a place where they can share their breastfeeding experiences with other mothers,” said Tiffany Rice, program manager for GCHD WIC. “We invite all new mothers and expectant mothers who want to share challenges, experiences, and receive tips.”

The free club is not exclusive to WIC clients, does not require registration, and welcomes all expectant and new mothers. Clubs have been established in Texas City, Dickinson, and Galveston.  Participants may choose the club with the most convenient location and meeting days:

  • Texas City WIC Clinic (9850 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Suite B 101, Texas City, TX 77591) on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to-6:30 p.m. Phone: (409) 949-3471
  • Dickinson WIC Clinic (3411 Gulf Freeway, Dickinson, TX 77539) on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Phone: (409) 337-7606
  • Galveston WIC Clinic (4700 Broadway, Suite F102, Galveston, TX 77550) on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Phone: (409) 763-7207

Mother’s Milk Club will cover a variety of topics, including but not limited to returning to work, overcoming challenges, and breastfeeding in public. New mothers are encouraged to bring their babies.
