A healthy dose of caffeine is sometimes exactly what’s needed to keep up with the energetic pets at Galveston County’s premier animal shelter, the Animal Resource Center (ARC). That’s why the ARC is excited to team up with Tanger Starbucks for ‘Caffeine and Creepy Critters’ at the shelter on Saturday, October 15.
Visitors to the Halloween-themed adoption event will be offered free Starbucks iced coffee from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last. All ARC critters will be available for adoption for $42.50 during the event, half-off the normal fee. The ARC also has dogs and cats available for free, with the use of Sponsor-A-Heart funds, in addition to $20 specials on some pets. The half-price adoption special is available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All ARC adoptions include rabies vaccination, a microchip and spay or neuter.
The event will also include a pet costume contest. Judging will take place at 2:00 p.m. and awards given to the best creepy critter costumes. Registration for the contest is free and on-site the day of the event. There will also be candy giveaways and activities for kids.
“We can’t thank Tanger Starbucks enough for donating coffee and time to help encourage people to come to the shelter to visit and adopt our wonderful pets,” said Amber Adams, ARC manager. “The support of local business is vital and Starbucks has proven its commitment to being part of this wonderful community and supporting our mission.”
