Child Care Facilities

A child care center that receives 13 or more children for childcare and preparing food for on-site consumption falls under the jurisdiction of the Texas Food Establishment Rules (pdf) and is regulated as a food service establishment. 

The annual permit fee per child care center is $150 and inspections are performed based on the risk level.

Nursing Home Facilities

Nursing home facilities fall under the jurisdiction of the Texas Food Establishment Rules (pdf) and are regulated as a food service establishment by Consumer Health Services. All concerns or inquiries of a non-food nature should be addressed to the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).
