The swimming pool sanitation program protects the health and well-being of people who use public and semi-public swimming pools. The program inspects and permits each public or semi-public swimming facilities within the Health District's jurisdiction. The requirements for pool operation are taken from the county regulation "Rules on Swimming Pool Sanitation" and the following applicable regulations from the Texas Department of State Health Services:

Permitting, Fees, and Inspections
A Swimming Pool Permit Application must be filled out for each public or semi-public pool or spa. Approval for a permit requires the owner or operator to provide the name of their certified operator, pass an inspection and pay a permit fee of $135 annually for each permit. The pools are inspected annually and when complaints are received.. PLEASE NOTE: An additional 2% convenience fee will be charged for all credit card payments.
